he seems to be all hesitant and shy and coquettish but really his japanese sucks and he would sooner sepuku than admit weakness. because of this, he takes long breaks in between words to think, says um a lot, and aways has to subtly look at his dictionary. this makes people think of him as a tease/idiot or whatever, but in reality, he's quick to anger, high maintenance, and hates being wrong. also easy to fluster. pretty much an asshole.

but on the other hand, he loves his sister to death and would die for her. he will legit shank you if you bother her beware. he also has a habit of getting attached to people, god forbid, and he would pretty much tear out his kidney for them tho not without a lot of complaining. like a lotttt of complaining. like it might just be less painful to die.

his childhood was actually pretty normal. he grew up in germany with his dear sister, parents, and beloved fat cat kitler, the family cat. it was later on that everything changed. his parents were always a bit distant; they simply favored his elder sister more as she was the eldest and the smartest and the prettiest (tbh he's still peeved about this). however, in a twist of events, his sister came out to their parents about her american, long-distance girlfriend (which was like twice the insult, a girl and american at that), and so she was kicked out of the house.

holly, however, loved his sister. she was his constant companion (he had no friends because he was pretty much an asshole, even then) so when she moved to japan in order to get away from their parents, he followed as soon as he was old enough to be emancipated. unfortunately, he came to japan with basic english, even worse japanese, the clothes on his back, and a v. v. v. fat cat. he did reunite with his sister and the three of them soon came to live together. sadly, their combined net worth was like -10 yen so he's desperate for any job that'll get him money and let him support the sister + fat cat (in
retrospect bringing the cat was a bad idea) which led him to taking the job at Fujoshi Cafe.

he really needs the money + the alternative was prostitution and he is not that type of girl thank you.

- he's pretty much useless no jk. he speaks broken japanese, 5th grade english, and he can't wait or bus for shit. he's pretty much only kept around for the eye candy and because for some reason the clients find him endearing.

- has to reference his dictionaries in order to reply, sometimes says stupid things because of this but hey he's pretty
- potty mouth; funny enough, he can curse fluently in english and japanese
- fluent in german, but apparently sounds too "alleyway serial killer" to be a moe point he's still sore about this ok
